Respecting Body Boundaries
Children’s body boundaries refer to the physical and emotional limits that children have the right to set for their own bodies. Teaching young children about body boundaries, both their own and others is crucial in contributing towards the child’s sense of confidence, and self- respect. While a child must know about his/her personal space and the choices he/she can make to determine what happens within it, equally important is knowledge about respecting another person’s body boundary and personal space.
The course aims to educate children aged 4 – 12 years about boundaries and sexual abuse in an effort to empower them and encourage them to take control of their own bodies.
The course uses a variety of techniques including storytelling, role play and activities to equip young children with the skills to stay safe from abuse and harm. By integrating these important lessons into their early education, the program lays a foundation for healthy relationships and personal safety as children grow and interact with the world around them.
