As an editor and writer, Sunniya specialises in crafting in-depth features on pressing global issues, including challenges faced by marginalised communities such as Europe’s refugee crisis and the climate emergency.

At  Al Jazeera English, Sunniya managed global contributors for the award-winning digital magazine, and oversaw the production of the Peabody Award-winning “The Cut: Exploring FGM.” As a Digital Editor, she commissioned and edited features, essays, and long reads, ensuring high-quality, engaging stories.
